Nottingham’s first official urban radio station was born out of the need for a licensed media establishment to serve the needs of the African and Caribbean communities of Nottingham and the surrounding areas, whilst bringing together communities from across the city to engage in debate and enjoy a variety of music styles and cultural entertainment. A variety of music particularly black music of the genre Reggae, Dancehall, Soul , RnB, Hip Hop, Rare Grooves, Soca, Calypso, Zouk, Jazz, Latin, African, Gospel and World Sounds
Classic FM is a 100 per cent classical music radio station. Since we began broadcasting in September 1992, the station has brought classical music to millions of people across the UK. Classic FM has around 4.5 million listeners tuning in each week, making it the biggest classical music radio station in the world.
Classic FM is part of Global, the media and entertainment group. The company owns the three largest brands in commercial radio: Heart, Capital and Classic FM, as well as Capital XTRA, Smooth, LBC, Radio X and Gold. we believe classical music can and should be a part of everyone's lives - regardless of age, which is why the station starts young, with music education in schools an important part of its work.
